ELECT JONICA BRIDENSTINE PRESIDING COMMISSIONER

WHERE'S THE MONEY, LEBOWSKI?
The Truth Is Divisive
"If you want to know, just ask."
-Facebook response to a citizen just asking
"The truth is divisive."
-Jesus, paraphrased (Matthew 10:34-36)
Political seasons rarely bring out the best in folks and I knew this when stepping up to the plate. The status quo hasn't been challenged around here in decades.
Entering the race as an Independent shook up the game - took it into extra innings, so to speak.
The home team is used to loading the bases on balls and I'm throwing straight down the middle.
Ringer!
It's not fair!
She's trying to hit me!
WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!
I love questions - to ask, to be asked, to hear why one feels they way they do, how their foundations were formed. Questions demand a response and a response can lead to conflict when it challenges deeply held beliefs and traditions. Working through these conflicts determines who we become, how we contribute to the larger conversation - how we effect change.
If you have never directly questioned your faith, your church doctrine, and your political ideals and questions are making you uncomfortable - GOOD.
This is your opportunity to grow, to make progress, to build something new, make new connections with yourself and others.
This is how communities grow strong and thrive.
This race isn't personal.
Requests for transparency are not an attack on character.
Responding to questions is normal.
I am not a politician. I have zero political aspirations. I am here to impress no one.
I am running this race to give my neighbors a choice and voice in the process where there has previously been but one option on the ballot.
We have 9 more days in this race for Presiding Commissioner, folks.
To make it worth enduring all the craziness we have to be talking to our neighbors, talking to strangers, reminding them to vote, reminding them to remind others to vote.
We're in the home stretch team, LET'S RALLY!
Fiscal Year 2025 End of Year Statement

The FY2025 End of Year Statement does not calculate accurately - why?
The Revenues section is underreported by $1.8M and the Expenditures section is reporting $3.6M less than the total of these columns combined.
It appears the row labeled as 'Other' under each section is not included in the total amounts - what are these 'other' revenues and expenditures?
The statement is available on the County website under 'General Finances' and also at the link below.
Also available is a spreadsheet of the statement converted from the original .pdf - look for yourselves and see what you see.

The public had no way of knowing the 10/5/2026 Commission Meeting would include the McDonald County Chamber of Commerce by reading the linked agenda - it is labeled "Economic Discussions".
How much funding will be appropriated for the Chamber in the 2027 budget?
How much was requested?
What specific actions will they be performing on behalf of the Commission?

3% Marijuana Tax
Reporting guidelines and Missouri statutes do not require the County to report a separate line for how much tax is being specifically collected for the 3% adult-use marijuana tax however, this does not prevent the County from reporting where those funds are allocated and for what purpose by percentage.
When asked about this topic at the 10/16/2026 Democrat meeting, Mr. Hall stated it is "a disturbing amount of money" and it "used to be in its own account but for 'transparency' it was moved into the General Fund".
Perhaps he meant, "for compliance" regardless, McDonald County should know where this money is allocated and for what it is being used.
